through symbols and ratings, simplifies accessibility information for
all visitors with disabilities, emphasizing what can be done rather
than what cannot be done.
The fifth edition of this travel guide was produced by ACCESS North
Carolina, a program of the NC Department of Health and Human
Services. Distribution is coordinated by the NC Department of
Commerce through its Division of Travel and Tourism.
Sites in this book are also found in the North Carolina Travel Guide
produced by the Division of Travel and Tourism. Travel attractions
were reviewed by the editor or volunteers as to their physical
accessibility.
